Vision

Univer­sity of Brawijaya, as Inter­natio­nal World Class Univer­sity wants to con­tribute encouraging others univer­sity student to be active in Inter­natio­nal Relation­ship through Knowledge and Education, Cul­ture Unders­tan­ding, and Living in Abroad Com­munity Experience.

Mision

Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty as part of Univer­sity of Brawijaya (UB) offer the Student Exchange Program to Aquacul­ture Depar­tment in Natio­nal Pingtung Univer­sity of Science and Tech­nology (NPUST) depend on the agreement by dean of Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty as part of Univer­sity of Brawijaya (UB) and chairman of Aquacul­ture Depar­tment in Natio­nal Pingtung Univer­sity of Science and Tech­nology (NPUST).

The Student Exchange Program which offered by Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty (Univer­sity of Brawijaya) is a program to encourage students Natio­nal Pingtung Univer­sity of Science and Tech­nology (NPUST) by some activities in order to increase their knowledge by laboratory meeting, clas­ses activities, and field trip activities. The students will get experience to live in Indonesia with some additio­nal value experiences.

The com­mit­tee program in Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty (Univer­sity of Brawijaya) will help foreig­ner students and take cares students while they are stay at the Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty (Univer­sity of Brawijaya).

After the program, hopefully foreig­ner students will have special knowledge about some science of fisheries, tech­nical fish proces­sing (indus­try and traditio­nal), ecology in fisheries area (fish pond and sea), and fisheries cul­ture in Indonesia.

Objectives:

 

The Student Exchange Program will be one of programs which make between Univer­sity of Brawijaya (UB) and Natio­nal Pingtung Univer­sity of Science and Tech­nology (NPUST) closer in networ­king in order to increase the inter­natio­nal activities. The goal of this activities is students of NPUST will get experience to study in Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty (Univer­sity of Brawijaya/UB), tech­nical fish proces­sing (indus­try and traditio­nal), ecology in fisheries area (fish pond and sea), and fisheries cul­ture in Indonesia.

 

The Base of Activities:

-          Unders­tan­ding Cooperative Let­ter between Natio­nal Pingtung Univer­sity of Science and Tech­nology (NPUST) and Univer­sity of Brawijaya (UB), that sig­ned by President of Natio­nal Pingtung Univer­sity of Science and Tech­nology (NPUST) and Rector of Univer­sity of Brawijaya (UB).

-          Agreement between the Chairman of Aquacul­ture Depar­tment (Natio­nal Pingtung Univer­sity of Science and Technology/NPUST) and the Dean of Fisheries and Marine Science (Univer­sity of Brawijaya/UB)

Con­tent Program

1. Activities

-          Laboratory meeting, inside the cam­pus, in English.

-          Classes/courses, about Fisheries in Indonesia (science and activities),  Language, and Cul­ture of Indonesian, inside cam­pus, in English.

-          Field Trip (with English guide tour), outside campus.

Visiting site:

  • Some of fisheries Industries.
  • Fish pond, include fish breeding and fish growing, and also cap­ture about ecology sys­tem, too.
  • Gover­nment Research Institution about Fisheries
  • Har­bor, include fish cap­ture, traditio­nal fish proces­sing, and fishery com­munity, also cap­ture ecology system.

2. Requirement of students

-          5 to 10 students of under­graduate (the amount of students depend on agreement later)

-          ability in English

-          Socialize ability

-          One of students as the leader of group among them.

3. Time

Estimation time: two weeks to four weeks while Sum­mer Break (July-August) or Win­ter Break (Decem­ber). Time depend on the agreement later (when and how many days).

4. Offering from Univer­sity of Brawijaya

-          Free living place fee

-          Free trans­por­tation fee during field trip

-          Cer­tificate

-          SIM card Cell phone (without credit/pulse)

-          Free inter­net wifi while in the campus

-          Com­mit­tee will pick up the NPUST students from Juanda Inter­natio­nal Air­port and Drive them back to Juanda Inter­natio­nal Air­port after the program end.

5. Others                

-          Visa and Inter­natio­nal trans­por­tation must not be han­dled by hos­ting univer­sity (univer­sity as destination).

-          Local trans­por­tation fee while students want to hang out by their selves, it must be han­dled by students themselves.

-          Daily need i.e. toiletries (soap, tooth paste, towel, etc), cloth, san­dals, and food must be han­dled by student them­selves. Especially for food*, it can be organized by com­mit­tee at hos­ting university.

*Estimation Price for Food in Malang Indonesia:
around 70ntd (1 ntd around Rp 350,00, or depend on cur­rency by bank or money changer) in one times for eat (if student order the food by com­mit­tee, the food com­position include: rice, fish/meat/chicken, some kinds of cooked vegetables, and pac­kaging water).

Or, for the first time the com­mit­tee will accom­pany students go to the food shop, they can order the food by them self, and the price of food depends on the food is ordered by them self.
