The Marine Science Study Program team carried out UB Lecturer Work (DOKAR) activities in the period 26 October – 2 November 2023. In this activity the team of lecturers headed by Ir. Bambang Semedi, M.Sc., Ph.D. and six other members, namely Ade Yamindago, S.Kel., MP, M.Sc., Ph.D., M. Arif Asadi, S.Kel., M.Sc., Dhira Khurniawan Saputra, S.Kel., M .Sc., Seftiawan Samsu Rijal, S.Si., M.Sc., Dian Aliviyanti, S.Si., M.Sc., and Fahreza Okta Setyawan, S.Kel., MT. conducted a series of visits to several universities in the Taiwan region, including visiting National Taiwan University (NTU), National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU), Minghsin University of Science and Technology (MUST) and Strong Company.
Specifically, in this activity, a series of activities were carried out, including the initiation of collaboration with NTU, which is included in the QS-100 of the world’s best universities. Collaborative activities initiated include student exchange, staff mobility, joint research and joint publications . NTU was represented by the Head of the Marine Biology and Fisheries Division Wei-Jen Chen, as well as lecturers in the division, namely Chih-Lin Wei, Vianney Denis, Yi-Jay Chang, Chung, Ming-Tsung, Pei-Chi Ho, Chia- Ying Ko also offers scholarships for degree programs consisting of regular masters and doctoral full degrees through the Ministry of Education (MOE) Taiwan Scholarship Program scheme .
Head of the IK Study Program Dokar Team Ir. Bambang Semedi, M.Sc., Ph.D. also an invited speaker at the Workshop on Ocean Sustainability: Solutions and Challenges which was located at NTOU. In this activity, apart from Ir. Bambang Semedi, M.Sc., Ph.D. There are also other sources such as Dr. Stefano Vignudelli (Department of Earth Sciences, National Research Council, Pisa, Italy), Dr. Yeny Nadira Kamaruzzaman (Faculty of Fisheries and Food Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia), Dr. Ming-An Lee (Department of Environmental Biology and Fisheries Science, National Taiwan Ocean University, Taiwan), Dr. Mubarak Mammel (Department of Environmental Biology and Fisheries Science, National Taiwan Ocean University, Taiwan). The speakers explained the same topic, namely sustainable maritime affairs.
The next visit to MUST and Strong Company also explored cooperation such as student internship activities or workshop initiation which could have the potential for summer course activities . Collaboration with Strong Company also resulted in an MoA. The various collaboration opportunities that have been carried out can be beneficial for students and lecturers in the future.[*]
