On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences at Universitas Brawijaya (FFMS UB) held an event to disseminate the Thesis Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the assessment criteria for theses. The event took place in the Auditorium on the 8th floor of the Main Building at FFMS UB. It was led by Prof. Dr.Sc. Asep Awaludin Prihanto, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Syarifah Hikmah Julinda Sari, the Chair of the Quality Assurance Organization (GJM) of FFMS UB. The event was attended by leaders of department,secretaries of department, leaders of program study, academic affairs staff, GJM team members, academic and department staff, as well as the chair and staff of the Journal Management Body (BPJ), along with nine student representatives from FFMS UB.
During this event, the agenda focused on the revised Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for conducting thesis examinations and the assessment indicators for thesis evaluations within the FFMS UB. In his opening remarks, Prof. Asep Awaludin emphasized that this updated SOP was collaboratively developed by the GJM team, involving both the academic departments and the BPJ team. The primary goal of these new SOPs is to standardize the thesis examination process and ensure consistent evaluation practices across all departments within FFMS UB. Additionally, the SOP includes measures to verify the originality of thesis manuscripts through plagiarism detection processes.

With the implementation of the new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regarding thesis examination and proposal seminar and defense seminar, it is expected that the FFMS UB will be able to conduct thesis examinations as a structured and organized learning process.
