The Campus Merdeka Competition Program (PKKM) at Universitas Brawijaya (UB) for the Fiscal Year 2024, organized by the Marine Science Study Program within the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences at UB, featured two international experts as Visiting Lecturers. This activity aimed to enhance scholarly competence through international collaboration and took place over 2 days from May 20 to 21, 2024. It was attended by students from the Marine Science Study Program at FFMS UB, with Dr. Ong Meng Chuan from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia, and Dr. Mei-Fang Chien from Tohoku University, Japan, as guest lecturers. The event was also attended by several faculty members teaching courses related to Marine Pollution, Marine Biotechnology, Ecotoxicology, and Marine Biosystematics and Genetics.
The Visiting Lecturer program was conducted in a hybrid format, including class sessions and practical classes, which engaged students from the four relevant courses. These sessions were designed to provide students with new knowledge and experiences in the field of marine science.
Overall, the Visiting Lecturer program received positive feedback and proved beneficial for the students.
