The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FFMS UB) held a Working Meeting at the Four Points Hotel, Surabaya, on 12-13 June 2024. This activity was attended by FFMS leader, lecturers and educational staff, which aimed to evaluate the achievements in 2023 and planning strategies for 2024.
In his speech, the Dean of FFMS UB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Maftuch, M.Sc., expressed his appreciation and thanks to all lecturers and staff who were present and worked well together. “In 2023, FFMS succeeded in achieving a performance achievement ranking of 5th on the University scale, a very proud achievement. “Our faculty has good grades and makes a high contribution to the performance achievements of Universitas Brawijaya,” said Prof. Maftuch.
However, the Dean of FFMS also emphasized the need to increase performance achievements in 2024 by adapting to various system changes implemented by UB. “Even though our scores are generally high, there are several indicators whose achievements still need to be improved, especially Key Performance Indicators (IKU) 1 and IKU 2 which are related to student affairs,” he added.
One of the strategies that will be implemented by FFMS UB to increase the KPI is to focus on strengthening the Community Service Program (KKN). “In this activity, KKN students are targeted to be able to disseminate their expertise in partner villages, so that their contribution can be felt directly by the community,” explained the Dean of FFMS UB.
This Working Meeting is expected to produce effective strategies to achieve FFMS performance targets in 2024, as well as strengthen synergy between lecturers, staff and students in improving the quality of education and community service. [DKS]
