Thursday, June 20, 2024, the Marine Science Study Program, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FFMS UB) and Vocational High School (SMK) 2 Turen officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate with each other. The signing ceremony took place at SMK 2 Turen which was carried out by the Head of the Marine Science Study Program, FFMS UB as a representative of FFMS UB, namely Ade Yamindago, S.Kel., MP, M.Sc., Ph.D and the Principal of SMK 2 Turen, Drs. Teguh Pramono, M.Pd.
In this MoA, both parties agreed to collaborate in the development of education, research and community service as well as support for the MERDEKA LEARNING-MERDEKA CAMPUS (MBKM) program with the Teaching Assistance Form of Learning Activities (BKP). This signing marks the beginning of a partnership which is expected to develop and increase the synergy of potential resources owned by both parties.
This signing event was also accompanied by a panel discussion discussing the learning programs available at SMK 2 Turen and the FFMS UB Marine Science Study Program. In his discussion Mr Drs. Teguh Pramono, M.Pd. said that by signing this MoU, both FFMS UB and SMK 2 Turen are optimistic that they can create a broad positive impact. It is hoped that this collaboration will not only improve the quality of education and research, but also make a significant contribution to the development of society and marine science in Indonesia.
The signing of this MoU is a promising first step to create a strong synergy between the world of higher education and vocational education, so as to produce quality graduates who are ready to compete in the world of work. [DSY]
