
The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FFMS UB) has officially established a partnership with PT. Asuransi Umum Bumiputera Muda (BUMIDA) in order to provide insurance protection for students participating in the Real Work Lecture (KKN) program. The signing of the partnership agreement was carried out on Monday, October 7, 2024, at the VVIP Room on the second floor of the FFMS UB Main Building.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Dean of FFMS UB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Maftuch, M.Si., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Asep Awaludin Prihanto, S.Pi., MP, and Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Entrepreneurship, Dr. Ir. Abu Bakar Sambah, S.Pi., MT, and Citra Satrya Dewi, S.Pi., M.Si as Secretary of the Research and Community Service Board (BPPM) FFMS UB. In his remarks, Prof. Maftuch expressed his gratitude to PT. BUMIDA for the establishment of this cooperation. He hopes that the cooperation will provide significant benefits, especially in handling insurance claims quickly and accurately, especially if an accident occurs during KKN activities.
Representatives of PT. BUMIDA who attended the event were Bayu Aditya Nugroho, Head of Marketing and Communication Section, and Mrs. Kitut as Supervisor/Consultant. In her explanation, Mrs. Kitut said that the insurance protection provided is valid for 24 hours in one full year and covers several conditions, including death or permanent disability due to accidents, accidents without permanent disability, to diseases that require hospitalization such as typhoid fever.
In addition, students who have registered in the BPJS program can also submit a double claim for additional protection. For the claim submission process, students only need to attach a receipt for hospital payments. If the receipt is not available because it has been covered by BPJS, then a certificate from the hospital stating that the patient has been covered by BPJS for a certain period can be used as a substitute for the receipt.
