
Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Universitas Brawijaya (FFMS UB) held the First Period Judicial Examination for the Even Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year. On Friday (28/02/2025), the event took place in the Exhibition Room, first floor of Building B FFMS UB. This was an important moment for students who had completed their studies.
The event began with the delivery of information by the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs, Alumni, Cooperation, and Student Entrepreneurship Sub-Division, Wiwin Lukitohadi, SH, S.Psi., CHRM. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of validating diplomas to ensure the accuracy of personal data. This process must be carried out immediately after graduation to avoid complicated corrections if there are errors after the diplomas are printed. In addition, he also appealed to graduation participants to fill out the faculty satisfaction survey and tracer study which are not only beneficial for the participants themselves, but also contribute to faculty accreditation so that they remain superior.
On the next session, the Head of the Department of Utilization of Marine and Fisheries Resources (PSPK) FFMS UB, Feni Iranawati, S.Pi., M.Si., Ph.D., read out the Decree of the Dean of FFMS UB Number 54 of 2025 concerning the Graduation of Doctoral Program (S3), Masters Program (S2), and Undergraduate Program (S1) Students. In the decision, it was determined that 2 students from the Doctoral Program, 5 students from the Masters Program, and 48 students from the Undergraduate Program were declared to have graduated. The procession continued with the submission of transcripts and certificates of graduation to the participants of the graduation.
Closing the event, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sc. Asep Awaluddin Prihanto, S.Pi., MP, congratulated the graduates. He also conveyed a message from the Dean for the graduates to continue to contribute positively to FFMS UB. In his speech, Prof. Asep also invited the graduates to bring positive memories while studying at FFMS UB, while input related to unpleasant things can be conveyed to the faculty management for future improvements.
As an effort to develop academics, Prof. Asep announced the plan to establish a Masters Program (S2) in Fisheries Science and a Masters Program in Marine Science in the following year. In addition, FFMS UB will also open a by research path , allowing students to complete their studies more flexibly, where most of the research can be done off-campus after the first few months of lectures.
With the holding of this Yudisium, FFMS UB has again produced graduates who are ready to contribute in the world of work and academics, in line with the faculty’s vision to continue to develop and innovate. [alf]
