Department of Socio-Economy Fisheries and Marine has 1 study program that has been accredited by National Accreditation Board (BAN), namely Bachelor Degree Program of Fisheries Agrobusiness (AP) accreditation A (865/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/III/2018)

Fisheries Agrobusiness Study Program

SK Mendikbud no. 0174/0/1983 and SK Dirjendikbud no. 118 / Dikti / 1984 as the basis for the implementation of Socio-Economy Fisheries Study Program which is accredited with the value of “A” based on SK BAN PT. 014 / BAN-PT / Ak-X / S1 / IX / 2006 dated September 7, 2006. Then, with SK Dikti Year 2008 and Rector’s Decree no. 092 / SK / 2008, SEP Study Program increased its status to Department of Socio-Economy Fisheries and Marine with one program study of Fisheries Agrobusiness based on SK Dirjen Dikti No. 163 / Dikti / Kep / 2006. Thus, at the Admissions Selection Selection T.A. 2010/2011, with the official name of the Study Program “Fisheries Agrobusiness (Socio-Economy Fisheries)”.

Becoming an international standard of excellence program in sustainable fisheries development based on Blue Economy principle and entrepreneurship spirit.

Mission

  • Organizing fisheries agrobusiness education (fisheries socio-economy) through conducive academic atmosphere toward international standardization of entrepreneurship spirit for sustainable fisheries development.
  • Enhance quality research activities in the management of fisheries and marine resources in regional, national, and international scale that are published nationally and internationally and leads to the downstream of research results.
  • Conducting community service activities as a form of moral responsibility of the institution to improve the welfare of society with the principle of Blue Economy.
  • Enhance the competitiveness of study programs through international cooperation with various institutions from abroad.

Purpose

  • Produce Bachelor of Fisheries plenary (bertaqwa, berideologi Pancasila, entrepreneur spirit, and global competitiveness, supported by ability of communicate and cooperate in multidisciplinary group that is able to utilize information and communication technology) with competence in field of study of business and commerce, resource economy, and social fishery , which is Adaptive, Creative, Character, Empathy, Intelligent and Self (AK2ECM), and has an international perspective based on Blue Economy principle.
  • Develop research in the field of Fisheries Economics with a sustainable management system through quality research in the management of fisheries and marine resources in regional, national, and international scale published nationally and internationally and leads to the downstream of research results.
  • Increasing the amount of dedication to the community as a form of institutional moral responsibility to improve the welfare of society with an integrated approach between social, economic and ecological.
  • Become initiator and activator in activities that support cooperation with various foreign institutions as organizer of international seminar together, joint research, join author, and team teaching collaboration.

Alumni

Number of active students of Fisheries Agrobusiness Study Program until 2019/2020 as many as 638 people with the number of teachers as many as 19 people with S3 educational strata (3 professors) and S2. Alumni that have been produced as many as > 1500 people spread in various regions with the scope of work as civil servants, consultants, SOEs, Industries, Banking, Researchers, Entrepreneurs, and Lecturers.

PS AP (SEP) as a part of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, refers to the development of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences which accommodates the university’s tridharma (education, research and community service) activities based on the University’s Renstra

The National Stage where there is an Institutional Transition and a National Competitiveness Capacity, at this stage initiated preparations for the achievement of the ASEAN scale. Likewise, the PS AP (SEP) at this stage has moved towards the national stage. Much has been achieved in this national stage, from participation in national forums to achievements gained from human resources based in the AP / SEP Study Program.

Tahap regional dimana pencapaian daya saing di lingkup ASEAN sekaligus memasuki pencapaian tahap ASIA. PS AP (SEP) pada tahapan ini telah melakukan beberapa kegiatan yang mengindikasikan pencapaian di lingkup regional dengan mengikutsertakan sumberdaya manusia yang dimiliki PS AP (SEP) dalam kegiatan-kegiatan tingkat ASIA. Bahkan di tahun 2017 pihak PS AP telah menginisiasi terjalinnya MoU antara Universitas Brawijjaya dan University Malaysia Terengganu yag menjadi pintu awal terjalinnya kerja sama regional antara kedua belah pihak, kerja sama ini meliputi adanya sharing knowledge yang telah diselenggarakan pada bulan Nopember tahun 2017.The regional stage in which the achievement of competitiveness in the ASEAN region as well as entering the achievement stage of ASIA. The PS AP (SEP) at this stage has undertaken several activities that indicate regional achievement by involving human resources of PS AP (SE AP) in ASIA level activities. Even in the year 2017 the PS AP has initiated the establishment of MoU between Universitas Brawijjaya and University Malaysia Terengganu yag become the door of the establishment of regional cooperation between the two sides, this cooperation includes the existence of knowledge sharing that was held in November 2017.

Global stage where the achievement of competitiveness in the Global environment, it is planned through the strategies set out in table 1.1.5, the planned step has been prepared by taking into account the base line owned to then developed based on SWOT analysis which became the basis of Self Evaluation document as well. Then translated in the work program based on the strategic plan Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences.
