Marine Science Study Program of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science students participated in the Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) Program at two leading marine science study programs in Indonesia, namely Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Makassar, and Diponegoro University (Undip), Semarang. This program was designed as part of an effort to improve competency, enrich learning experiences, and expand networks and interactions with students and lecturers from other universities.

For one semester, starting from August 19, 2024 to December 2024, students involved in this program will attend lectures at the destination university as part of the 2023 PKKM MBKM Student Exchange grant. Through this activity, it is hoped that students can gain new insights and strengthen their academic and professional competencies in the field of marine science through learning experiences in different environments.

This program is attended by students from the 2022 (5th semester) and 2023 (3rd semester) batches, with 6 students each placed at Unhas and Undip. Their presence was warmly welcomed by the leaders of the universities and the Marine Science Study Program at both universities, which also increased the enthusiasm of the students in taking lectures, interacting with new friends, and studying in depth in the marine field.

With this program, it is expected that students will not only gain broader academic knowledge, but also enrich their life experiences through cultural and social interactions with students and the community around the campus they visit. This MBKM program is an important step in building a generation of quality and highly competitive marine scientists and professionals in the future. [ADY/YFS]
